Thanks to Caprial and John

A great time was had by all at our pre-IPNC dinner tasting featuring the cuisine of Caprial and John Pence of Caprial's Bistro in Portland. The chefs certainly lived up to their famed reputation producing an elegant meal that beautifully showed-off all the wonderful pinot noir wines provided by our guest wineries and, of course, our own Anne Amie Vineyards Pinot Noir selections.

We were often asked why we would showcase a group of California Pinot Noir producers here at our winery in Oregon, but anyone who tasted those wonderful wines knows why. The beauty of pinot noir is its ability to show the unique characteristics of the vineyards where it is grown and the lovely diversity of the excellent wines tasted underscored that beauty. Our goal for the evening was to celebrate that exciting diversity and share the passion and talent of the gifted winemakers that were our guests for the evening. (for a list of those wineries click here)

Great food, great wine and a perfect sunset made for an evening that will be well remembered by all who attended.

Goodbye IPNC 2006!

The 20th annual International Pinot Noir Celebration is now history and we're back at work at the winery this Monday with everyone looking a bit sleepy. It was a great event for everyone and we're happy to report a great success for us here at Anne Amie Vineyards as our featured wine, 2003 Anne Amie Vineyards Hawk's View Vineyard, was greeted with rave responses at every tasting. We were particularly flattered by compliments from such California pinot noir winemaking luminaries as Mike Richmond (Bouchaine), Richard Sanford (Alma Rosa) and Dr. David Bruce. Just as exciting for us was the buzz about our wines passing through the crowd as person after person came to our table and said, "I'm told I just have to taste your wine!"

The IPNC is certainly a great event and every pinot noir lover should try to make that pilgrimage at least once! Thanks to everyone who visiting us at the winery and at our tasting table during the event.
